A look inside The
eight buildings of Charles River Park stand on acres of green parkland
in the neighborhood known as the West End. Two Hawthorne Place
and Nine Hawthorne Place contain approximately 450 residential condominiums
in these two 17 story buildings. More than 67% of the units are owner
occupied. Six and Eight Whittier Place house nearly 450 additional
residential condominiums. Three quarters of these are owner occupied.
These buildings are comprised of a mix of condominium
types, sizes and prices. Prices for the most part depend on what improvements/renovations
may have been done to a specific unit and it’s location within the
building. Views are frequently a pricing dynamic. Current price ranges
may be seen on the FOR SALE page. Sizes for the various unit types
are:
Studios – 637 to 691 square feet
One bedrooms, one baths – 833 to 942 square feet
Two bedrooms, 2 baths - 1224 to 1313 square feet
Three bedrooms, 2 baths – 1515 square feet (There are only 23 of
these in all 4 buildings and they are all the “H” units in
8 Whittier Place.)
One and Four Longfellow Place, and One and Ten Emerson Place contain only
rental apartments. There is a wide selection of unit types including spacious
Studios, one, 2 and 3 bedroom units. Availability and pricing depends on
several factors and is in a constant state of flux. There are an additional
310 rental units currently under construction. Anticipated occupancy is
September of 2007. There will also be 3 newly constructed 3 story townhouses

All buildings provide 24 x 7 concierge, security and maintenance.
If possible, please allow 24 hours advance notice to visit a condominium
that is For Sale or an apartment that is for rent.
Overall, Charles River Park is a four season,
resort-like community accross the street from MGH and the banks of the
Charles River. Available by membership is Boston's largest outdoor/indoor
pool facility that includes a summer outdoor cafe, private rental cabanas,
and tennis courts. The cabanas have private showers and it is here that
cabana renters enjoy their summer BBQ’s.
The full health club facility, complete with indoor pool, offers
a variety of membership options. Initiation fees are waived for CRP residents.

Onsite, you’ll find J. Pace’s gourmet food market (beer, wine,
daily prepared foods, catering,etc), a dry cleaner and Bea’s Nail
Salon. Whole Foods, CVS and Bank America are a 4 minute walk from
CRP as the shops and restaurants of Cambridge and Charles Streets on Beacon
Hill.
Access to route 93 north and south and to Storrow Drive west is adjacent
to the CRP community. Public transportation is within a 3 minute walk from
anywhere in CRP. Green line, Museum of Science station or Red line, Charles
Street/MGH station.
Garage parking is regularly available for rent or purchase in each of
the condominium buildings and for rent in the apartment buildings. Spaces
generally range from $48,000 to $52,000 to purchase. They rent for $275
to $300 per month. If owned there is a monthly maintenance fee of approximately
$90 per month.
Each building features ample common laundry rooms
with washers and dryers that operate on a debit card system and are open
24 hours a day. Installation of washer/dryers is NOT encouraged in the
Hawthorne buildings and prohibited in the Whittier’s. Dogs are
not allowed in Charles River Park but cats and other domestic pets are
welcome.
